The anthology couple iris – violet is associated in this creation with the depth of Grasse leather for a tribute to the origins of French perfumery. Considered the international capital of perfume, few people know that the original know-how of Grasse in the 16th century was leatherwork, notably by the Master Glovemakers, whose powerful and animal odor could be disturbing. To remedy this, the leather was impregnated with flowers such as iris, violet or rose which flourished particularly well on the Grasse lands. The perfumer, Fabrice Pellegrin, a child of the Grasse region, wanted to pay tribute to this village that watched him grow up, by working a leather note, a reminder of the tanneries of yesteryear. The violet leaves create the link between the velvety leather and the bitterness of the mastic tree, the iris brings elegance and roundness to Cuirissime while containing its animality with gourmandise.
